I love photography. I have ever since I was a child, enlarging black and white pictures in the bathroom with my parents and getting my first camera.
And to be honest — I love cameras. Especially old high-end or special cameras. I have been through all kinds of systems. From my first Praktica SLR, over the Canon FD system, to medium format. First with a Yashica A, then a Hasselblad 500C. From there I went digital — first with Canon, then Fujifilm, and now also Sony.
My real love of photography has stayed with analog photography. There is just something real and unique about pictures from film. Even when scanned later.
Since Covid, when too much work and social interaction was through the computer, I have rediscovered film processing and started doing much more analog photography.
My latest "fling" is large-format photography. I have tried a number of 3D-printed cameras, made my own, and also shoot with a lovely Linhof Technika III 4x5 camera.
Photography is my hobby. I do it for my own joy, to help out friends, and to bring home photos from traveling when I can.
I have been lucky enough to do some concert photography with bands of my friends: the rock band IGENIGEN and the death metal band Shadowspawn. This is so much fun. Understanding the band, anticipating their next move, taking lighting and background into consideration, trying to capture cool closeups, the mood of the room, and the band together — it is an exciting challenge.
